imaginationだと考えて(思って)いる事というよりも、考えることそれ自体を表すのが普通だからあまり良くないと思うなぁ

心の奥底で考えている事をdeep inside her heartって感じで表現したらどうでせう

深層心理を直訳したdeep psycheでもいいだけどなんだか味気ないんで...

The former proverb says that you should think twice before you act, and the latter one says that you should act without hesitation.
I think the former advice is better.
Since you have to avoid your death at any cost, you should act only if you are certain that the act don't lead to your death.
Though the policy may sometimes let you miss a chance, but it's better than die.

名詞のdie=(単数形の)サイコロだから考えなしの運任せよりはマシと読めなくはないけど...流石にそんな意図ではないよね、冠詞もないし

better than to dieかbetter than deathとするのが妥当だと思います

than to dieでもthan deathでも何と何を比較しているのかはっきりしない気がしました
itはthe policy may sometimes let you miss a chanceを指していてthan以下はyour policy lets you dieの略、とすれば文法的に間違っていないと思います
わかりやすくするには最後の一文をまるまま書き直すのが良さそうです

東大の自由英作文って、出題傾向が毎年違うしわざわざ過去問を解く意義が感じられないんだけどどうだろう

例文暗記をして一文を正確に書ける訓練をしたら、あとは東大模試でアウトプットするだけで英作文の勉強は良いような気がする。自分は自由英作文の過去問は一切解かない予定
